Leos Carax autobiographical film is staggering. Running a scant 41 minutes it had one of the biggest and best reactions to any film at NYFF so far.
I took no notes, just stared at the screen as a series of images, clips and ramblings danced across it. There is even an in context music video for Modern Love by David Bowie.
This is what cinema is all about.
My only complaint is NYFF i running it a single film and charging full price for both the screening with the Q&A and the one without. Frankly this should play with the final Godard for reasons I can't articulate but will make sense if you watch both films together.
A masterpiece and a must see.
