I had previously seen an episode of Jono Hunter's NIGHT DRIVES Season 2 for the Blood In The Snow Festival. They had screened the one on a couple watching Silence of the Lambs, which while amusing, isn't the best piece in the series. Seeing the full season (all 17 minutes of it) the show revealed itself to be something sick, twisted and very funny.
The series is a series seemingly interconnected sketches. It's never really clear if the the characters carry over, but it doesn't really matter since the humor and enjoyment comes from the bent takes on things like, watching movies, going or not going into your bathroom or going camping. Sure some of the humor is low brow, but Hunter and his associates bend and twist the situations in ways I never expected. Yes I laughed because the jokes were funny, but I laughed harder because of how the sketches played out.
What an absolute joy.
One of the must sees of this year's Slamdance
