Young Iranian American woman with huge family has to deal with her fractured relationship with them (particularly with her mom), her father's open heart surgery and her pregnancy.
Joyous comedy drama had me groaning with it's deliberate shots of Brooklyn on Halloween, which then quickly shifted to wide eyed wonder as our heroine began to talk about her life as she hooked up with an actor who is playing Hedwig..... what an f-ing amazing film.
How have I not heard about this film? It won all sorts of awards and it stayed off my radar?
I have no words. I laughed I cried, I kissed hello to a new favorite film.
Why aren't people running out to see this? Is it the whole Iranian thing? This isn't Iranian, this human, this is the story of any family from anywhere.
This is absolutely glorious from top to bottom
