The girlfriend of a whistleblower survives his assassination and then sets about making sure the people responsible will pay.
Rooted in what is happening in South African society where the government and corporations will occasionally kill people who expose their nasty little secrets (the film ends with dedications to a half dozen people recently killed) the film tackles the problem of illegal chemical weapon manufacture and sales. While the film clearly has a lot to say about the state of the country, the film always remains a solid political thriller. It’s a dark tale that we aren’t always sure that our heroine will survive. What I like is that the tension doesn’t ease until the end credits roll. It’s a rare thinking man’s thriller.
I had a great time .
Get some popcorn and track this down.
