In Julia Ponce Díaz’s SOREDIA an introspective student from France takes a trip into the mountains with her friends and begins to act on her obsession with her one friend.
This is a good little drama. It’s a lovely look at a fish out of water and more so a fish in a place she is un prepared for. It’s a lovely examination of how we seek to cope with situations that put us far outside our comfort zones.
There is a lyric beauty to the film that makes me wonder what Ms Diaz will do when she is given a feature canvas to paint on.
