Portrait of disco music icon Gloria Gaynor as she produces a self funded gospel album and looks back at the trials and tribulations of her life.
Everything you wanted to know about Ms Gaynor and then some. Its a hell of a story with lots of unexpected turns. Its a film that celebrates the singer in the best possible way.
I really liked the film. I liked that it fills in the details on the life of a singer who for the better part of the last five decades. Its a wild ride.
What I didn't like is that the presentation is rather rather run of the mill. It isn't remotely bad, this is a really good film, but the subject deserves better. She's a woman who survived a great deal and deserves something more than a by the numbers telling.
While I may have liked something flashier, I still liked the film and as such I recommend the film if the subject interests you.
