Pragma is a 20-minute short making its international premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival.
Pragma is a romantic comedy that one-ups online dating. Young adults go to an institution where they are matched with people who are compatible with them based on various algorithms to find their life partners. Each person gets put in a room with a match and they are then observed by people watching them on a camera who decide if they're compatible or not, if not, they move to the next person.
The short follows Willow and her experience. Will she go with the guy the program picks for her? Or will she follow her natural instincts and go for the guy she's drawn to?
This short was FUN! It was light-hearted, bizarre, crazy and entertaining, and at times depressing. It made me wonder if something like this could exist in real life. (maybe it already does?)
