I'm just getting started with this year's Cabana A Sang Film Fest and I am steadily talking to the screen.
I'll write a proper piece when I get a chance but a couple of quick notes.
First based on what I've seen this year is even more messed up than the last two. There are some deeply disturbing things in the mix. First out of the box was THE DEGENERATES and it is absolutely not for the faint of heart. Based on the Robert Beckowitz murder case where a couple recorded their murder and dismembering Beckowitz, this a grainy VHS looking video of the killers having "fun" with the body. Its one of the more disturbing things I've seen in a while.
From theer it was on to some shorts-which continue to support my feeling that the best programmed festival around is this one. They hit the mark 99.99% of the time and even when I don't like a film I know had I been offered it I would have programmed it as well.
I will write more when I can really devote the time.
For right now just know if you like genre films and don't mind a trip to the disturbing even when it is showing you magnificent wonders
