While we wait for the next DOC NYC review to drop and before the full weight of the fest hits like a ton of bricks I’m going to take a moment to scribble a couple of notes.

Our coverage of DOC NYC will continue through next weekend. When it’s done we’ll have seen almost all of the features. While the in person fest ends on the 18th the online runs until the 28th – so dive in..

Next weekend we will be returning to Canada for the in person section of Blood in the Snow. Look for a whole bunch of reviews of the features and shorts playing.

I know the Filmmaker list seems to have died, but it hasn’t- it’s just paused thanks to all of the festival coverage.

I want to announce that because of the up and down nature of film viewing this year of most of the unseen Film Family I’m going to pause any real discussion of picking up the Unseen Film Awards as a best of the year award and repeat last year’s award at looking for everyone’s film that made them the happiest. New or old what film made you stupidly happy to see it?
That may not get the attention of the studios, but it will get the attention of the film fans who may very will be able to discover some treasure.

Also look for our Thanksgiving Turkeys the week of Thanksgiving. Five films that were so bad we need to highlight them.

And look for December to be a lot of catch up posts mixed in with a few new releases.
