A rich white vloger finds her self falling for a black man from a housing project while using the footage she is shooting for a personal project.
While this is a compelling tale, what made the biggest impression on me was the stunning cast (Jaime Winstone, Ola Orebiyi, Lily Newmark, Craige Middleburg, Barney Harris, Michael Maloney, Dexter Padmore, Rose Kerr). While I have seen some of them before in other films, everyone here comes to life and really owns their characters. In all honesty what stuck with me is the small moments between characters which come across as small moments between real people. The rage, the sadness and even the joy in the film feel like they were moments pilfered from someone's life.
Simply put the performances across the board are amazing and perfect example of why the Oscars need to have an ensemble award. (that is assuming they would even stoop to look at something as good as this)
A BRIXTON TALE is a small gem with great acting and highly recommended.
