Solid look at the men and dogs who hunt the white Alba truffle. Prized by foodies the truffles are hard to come buy and very pricey which has lead a new generation of truffle hunter to take drastic steps by poisoning their competitors dogs, slashing tires, destroying fences and private property in in the hope of getting the prized fungi.
I really liked this film a great deal to be certain that it isn’t anything earth shaking. But at the same time watching a bunch of characters and their canines hunting and talking about something beyond our reach is both enlightening and entertaining. The change in the market makes us reflect at how the world is changing, at the same time it’s nice to know that there are wonderful people floating around up their trying to keep the old ways going.
I had a blast and half watching this.
Highly recommended.
