The San Diego Asian Film Festival starts on Thursday. Its a wonderful collection of Asian films from across the continent. Trust me the festival has some real winners in it.
Below is a list of the films we've seen with links to our reviews. I'm hoping to squeeze in a few more reviews over the course of the festival so keep reading.
9 MAN - I recently saw this in connection to it's DOC NYC screening, and a review is coming next week for that screening. Until then know this is a wonderful little film about the Chinese communities in America and how a game of volleyball connected them. Its a super super little film.
BLIND MASSAGE
FUKU CHAN OF FUKU FUKU FLATS
HELLO JUNICHI
IRON MINISTRY
JOURNEY TO THE WEST
KANO
THE KINGDOM OF DREAMS AND MADNESS - This is a good doc on Studio Ghibli that's playing DOC NYC and getting a regular run November 28 from GKIDS. A couple of reviews are coming closer to the NYC run. My take is its best for fans with an deep interest in the studio, Others not so much.
MAN FROM RENO
NON-FICTION DIARY
THE SEARCH FOR WENG WENG
UZUMASA LIMELIGHT
