Mother and Son (1997)
From Aleksandr Sokurov, the director of the Russian Ark....
A very good, very slow film where almost nothing happens.
This is the story of a son taking care of his mother. He takes her for a walk, he combs her hair, he tries to feed her. There is almost no dialog, just some fantastic visuals that put you in the moment. That's it.
You will either be moved to tears or you will be bored silly.
If you're patient and want a feel for what its like to be a caregiver in the quiet times see this movie.
If you want to see a an action packed film look elsewhere. If you want to see a deeply moving emotional film see this movie.

ReplyDeleteNot necessarily. You can find yourself lapsing into a trance.
